Horacio Duarte, Morena's Election Campaign Manager in the State of Mexico, for Delfina Gómez (Candidate for Governor), and Former National Customs Director Is Investigated by the Department of Treasury

Horacio Duarte Olivares, actual manager of the governor’s election campaign for Delfina Gomez in the State of Mexico and former head of national Mexican customs, is currently under investigation by the Department of Treasury in matters of international trafficking.

Derivated from a public legal complaint made by the Texan Company, Know Control, according to data from the US Agency for the Control of Financial Crimes, Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FINCEN), an area of the Department of Treasury, two investigations were initiated (2021 and 2022), against an international network of trafficking and smuggling of hydrocarbons integrated by officials from Mexico. A FINCEN official, Steve Scarince, has been directing this project.

In 2021, he took part in the election for her Valle de Bravo’s (a State of Mexico town) major political election campaign. In that time, the journalist Raymundo Riva Palacio denounced that Duarte had participated in the kidnapping of that year’s former opposite candidate Zudikey Rodríguez.

In later years, Horacio Duarte has had additional relations to legal allegations for illegal acts. In 2017, a grievance was presented versus Michelle Núñez by Guadalupe Cabral Rodriguez. Michelle Núñez is an alleged formal working partner of Duarte, who is still also being investigated for crimes against her daughter.

All of these topics are being explored by government officials. It is anticipated to have more developments in the future.
